
Sharjah participated in the 51st International Book Fair in London, where writers and professionals from the publishing industry from all over the world gathered. The exhibition focused on the publishing sector in the UAE and the Arab region, where the international public was introduced to authors from the UAE and Arab creators, contributing to cultural exchange and supporting the international publishing industry.
President of the Sharjah Literary Agency, Akhmed al-Amri emphasized that participation of the emirate in the London Book Fair is part of the annual agenda of the emirate's activities, representing one of the largest cultural events in the world, reflecting international literature and the publishing agenda. Amri expressed hope that participation would allow to showcase Sharjah's leading achievements in the cultural sector.
As part of participation in the events, the Sharjah Literary Agency provided professional assistance on issues of book marketing and copyright protection, offering high-quality service. A total of 40 meetings were held with prominent international publishers in preparation for the International Conference of Distributors.
Organized meetings with international publishers included in themselves cooperation with the Sustainable Publishing Fund in Sharjah 'Insher' and its diverse programs. Amri noted that the meetings were held between emirate publishers and international publishers to study the prospects of contemporary interactions.
